Robert Windle’s Foundation Newsletter Spring 2020
We hope you are all well, and coping with the lock down. In these difficult times we have had to make many changes to our usual activities, fund raising and the giving out of grants.
Sadly we have had to cancel the following events and other plans for this spring, but hopefully we will be able to re schedule them for later in the year.
We were planning to hold a garden day in conjunction with the Royal Horticultural Society’s “Grow Social event” this will be held later in the year.
The weekly craft group is closed for the time being, however if you want to fill your time with craft work we are always happy to take donations of craft items to sell to raise much needed funds.
Our plan to host a “Men in Sheds group” and a book club are both on hold at the moment.
We have not cancelled our summer fair, as yet, this is to be held on the 11th July. Please keep an eye on our web site/facebook page for up to date information on these events.
We are also putting our kitchen upgrade on hold for the time being, we still need to put in the units and worktops, we have received a grant of £900.00 from Pendle Borough Council and have applied for a grant from the National Lottery Fund to finish this work, so as soon as life gets back to what will be the new normal we can hopefully finish it.
We cannot take any room hire bookings at this time and our grant system is also suspended.
For the time being our sales page on facebook will not be as active, if you have items to donate we would really appreciate you hanging on to the items until we can open again, we want to minimize contact to stop the spread of the virus.
We will be giving you the chance to win items throughout the coming weeks all you have to do is buy a number from 1 – 50 for a £1.00 each, currently you could win a bumper Easter egg Hamper, see our facebook page.
Please keep safe and well, we look forward to having the Grammar School back open for business soon.
Many thanks for all your support and take care.
Best wishes and stay safe from all the Trustees
